Thiess Kentz to provide instrumentation services at Pluto
Fri, 5 March 2010
Thiess Kentz has been awarded a sitewide specialist instrumentation contract for the onshore components of the Pluto Gas Project, located on the Burrup Peninsula, Western Australia.
Work on the site will include instrument calibrations, testing of instrument loops and testing the electrical network monitoring and control system.
The Pluto Gas Project will process gas from the offshore Pluto and Xena gas fields. The initial project phase includes a single LNG production train at the Burrup LNG Park with forecast production of 4.3 million tonnes per annum of LNG. The train will be connected via a 180 kilometre, 36 inch offshore pipeline to a platform in 85 metres of water, which in turn will be connected to five subsea big bore wells on the Pluto field.
The project is being developed by Woodside Petroleum who has appointed a joint venture between Foster Wheeler and WorleyParsons as engineering procurement and construction manager.
