Advent Energy has completed site survey acquisition and awarded major services contracts in preparation for its drilling campaign of PEP 11, offshore Sydney Basin, scheduled for the third quarter 2010.
The site surveys – a necessary prerequisite for offshore drilling – were conducted over five areas in PEP 11 by MV Limitless and a site survey report is currently being prepared.
Advent has established a supply base in Newcastle and has commenced receipt of long lead items including casing.
Advent has also awarded services contracts for mud logging, remotely operated vehicles, line hanger, cementation production, casing and tubing running, rig position, vessels and helicopters and drilling tools.
The exploration well will be drilled with the semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Patriot.
Bounty Oil & Gas currently holds a 75 per cent interest in the licence and Advent holds the remaining interest. After completion of drilling, Advent Energy will increase its interest to 85 per cent under a farmin agreement with Bounty.
