The new facility, a partnership between Schlumberger and QUT, will entail a new research and development laboratory housing over $A2.5 million worth of geotechnical equipment and focusing on developing unconventional gas technologies.

Schlumberger will create 23 new full time jobs in Brisbane, and hopes to recruit 50 new engineers across Queensland in the next five years.

Up to $A18,000 jobs and over $A45 billion in CSG-LNG investment in Queensland have now been approved by the state and federal Governments.
